Apply for this job

Achieving Zero Deaths and Serious Injuries on UK Roads is the ambitious vision that propels the work of The Road Safety Trust—an independent, grant-giving charity and the UK’s leading funder of road safety initiatives. Since 2014, we have awarded over £12 million to 120 pioneering projects across education, research, practical interventions, and policy advocacy.

Through our not-for-profit trading subsidiary, UKROEd—administrator of the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS), we are uniquely positioned to drive impactful, evidence-based change. Surplus income from UKROEd sustains our grant-making activities, ensuring our work remains both effective and enduring.

We are now seeking up to three new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the strategic direction of our mission. We invite applications from individuals who are deeply committed to road safety and who bring intellectual rigour, strategic insight, and curiosity to governance. We are seeking Trustees to join our Audit & Risk Committee, contributing to robust financial oversight and risk management; Road Safety Initiatives Committee, playing a key role in shaping the focus and impact of our grant-making programmes and the Communications and Engagement Committee.

Therefore, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in finance management, charity governance and risk, communications, or road safety. Equally important is your capacity to think strategically, pose challenging questions, and contribute to thoughtful, values-driven decision-making. We are committed to broadening the diversity of our Board and strongly encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those currently underrepresented in governance roles.

This is a pivotal moment to get involved. With a growing national profile and a clearly defined purpose, The Road Safety Trust offers a meaningful and influential opportunity to contribute to safer roads for everyone.
